PROVIDENT FUND

Employee Provident Fund or EPF is the scheme which aids the retirement of salaried employees. It is a retirement fund scheme towards which both employee and employer contribute on a monthly basis. In most of the cases, it is 12% of the employee basic salary and dearness allowance and the same contribution is made by the employer. These funds are generally availed post-retirement but the employees do have an option to avail them while still working subject to certain terms and conditions. Establishments with more than 20 employees are required to enroll them under the provident fund on the unified portal and provide with their respective UAN.

The employees are facilitated with claiming the saved funds through various means like online, SMS, UMANG app and a missed call.

PF CLAIM STATUS

Once the application for withdrawal has been submitted, the claim status can be checked. If an employee has UAN, the claim can be made through form 11 which does not require any attestation and enables online submission through the unified portal.

For those who do not have UAN can fill up Form 19 and submit it to the nearest EPFO office. Form 19 requires due attestation.
