The internet has made things much faster in almost every sphere, this includes payments for services. Going directly to a branch to pay your insurance premium is soon going to become a thing of the past. The Life Insurance Corporation (LIC) of India has embraced technology and is now allowing its clients to make payments of the premiums online. You can make payments either through their website or their mobile app. We have discussed both these methods below so that you can save time and energy while staying on top of your Insurance Premium payments.

LIC Premium payment through the LIC website.

  1. To commence the payment process you should first visit LIC’s official website (https://www.licindia.in/)
  2. On the top of the page, you should select the “Payment Through Alternate Channels” option under the “Premium Payments” tab
  3. On the right of the “Payment Through Alternate Channels” page you will find the “Online Payments” option.
  4. The “Pay Premium Online” page will give you two options “Pay Direct (Without Login)” and “Through Customer Portal”
  5. The “Pay Direct” tab will provide you with 4 options: “Renewal Premium/Revival” “Advance Premium Payment” “Loan Repayment” “Loan Interest Payment”
  6. To pay premiums which are due select “Renewal Premium/Revival”
  7. The procedure requires three steps to complete payment: “Customer Validation” “Premium Particulars” “Payment”
  8. “Customer Validation” is done to check the particulars of your insurance scheme. Under this tab you will need to provide: Policy Number | Date of Birth | Mobile Number | Installment Premium Without Taxes | Valid Email ID
  9. Read the terms carefully and select “I Agree”. Click “Submit” to move to the next page.
  10. After you submit your details you will be directed to the “Premium Particulars” page
  11. In case you have multiple policies, the bottom of the “Premium Particulars” page allows you to add more policies under the “Add more Policies for Premium Payment” tab.
  12. The “Add more Policies for Premium Payment” requires you to provide the policy numbers and exact premium amounts before taxes.
  13. The next step will show you the “Total Policies Selected” and “Total Premium Amount”
  14. Check the Policies and Premium Payments and, if you are satisfied, select the “Check and Pay” option
  15. After selecting the “Check and Pay” option you are redirected to the “Payment” page.
  16. The “Payment” page will allow you to make payments through three medium: Internet Banking, Debit Cards, Credit Cards.
  17. Select the appropriate option to open the payment portal and complete your payment.

Member Login

If you have registered on the LIC website you can log in to your account to make online payments of premium. This requires fewer steps as your policy details are attached to your account.

  1. Log in to your online LIC account with your UserID/Email Address/Registered Mobile Number. You will also need to provide the password and your date of birth.
  2. Once you have successfully logged in, click on the “Online Payments” tab
  3. Select the policies you would like to make payments for and click the “Check and Pay” button
  4. Confirm your Mobile Number, Email Address and payment amount to continue
  5. The “Payment” page will allow you to make payments through three medium: Internet Banking, Debit Cards, Credit Cards.
  6. Select the appropriate option to open the payment portal and complete your payment.
