The UTI MNC Fund has outperformed its peers and benchmark in 2018 even though the mid-cap segment of the market was not performing well. The fund outperforms its benchmark in investment cycles of 5 years or more. As this fund invests heavily in the mid-cap segment it is highly volatile in nature due to the volatility of this market segment. The UTI MNC Fund saw its best performance between March 2009 and March 2010. The fund does not perform well in short investment cycles of less than 5 years but has the potential to reward investors handsomely in investment cycles longer than 5 years.
The primary objective of the scheme is to generate long term capital appreciation by investing predominantly in equity and equity related securities of multinational companies. However, there can be no assurance or guarantee that the investment objective of the scheme would be achieved.
